About SSLCanary
SSLCanary is one simple dashboard that watches SSL certificate expiry and domain-name expiry across all of your domains, and warns you in plain language before either lapses. Nothing to install, no sysadmin knowledge required.
Why we built it
A lapsed certificate or an expired domain takes a site down without warning, and the damage is public and immediate. Registrars remind you about the handful of domains they hold, but nobody gives you a single place to watch every certificate and every renewal across all your registrars and hosts. If you look after dozens or hundreds of domains, that gap is a standing risk. SSLCanary closes it.
What SSLCanary does
It probes your public endpoints for SSL certificate expiry, checks domain-name registration expiry via RDAP, and tells you in plain English whether each certificate is actually valid right now — not expired, not untrusted, not the wrong hostname, not a broken chain. When something is about to lapse, it warns you ahead of time by email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, or a webhook, with the lead times you choose.
Who it's for
SSLCanary is built for people who manage many domains across multiple registrars and hosts — agencies and freelancers minding client sites, small IT teams, and portfolio owners. The defining trait is volume across providers, not technical depth: if you have eighty domains across six registrars and no single place to see them all, this is for you.
How we operate
There is nothing to install. SSLCanary checks your sites from its own infrastructure, the way a browser would, so it works for any public endpoint without touching your servers. We keep the product deliberately simple — consolidation and clarity over a long feature list — because reliable, on-time alerts are the entire point, and that is where the engineering goes.
