Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
These terms govern your use of SSLCanary, a service operated by Rapid Ventures OÜ (Estonia, registry code 14133549). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them — in particular the sections on your responsibilities and on our liability.
Acceptance
By creating an account or using SSLCanary, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
The service
SSLCanary monitors the SSL certificates and domain-name registration dates of the domains you add, and alerts you before they expire. Monitoring is a convenience aid, not a guarantee: you remain responsible for renewing your own certificates and domains. We do not guarantee that every check or alert will be delivered on time, and an alert — or a missed one — does not transfer that responsibility to us.
Your account
You must give accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for the members you invite to your organization.
Acceptable use
You may only monitor domains and endpoints that you own or are authorized to monitor. You must not use the service to probe systems without permission, to break the law, to infringe others' rights, or to disrupt or abuse the service or its infrastructure. We may suspend accounts that do.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe in euros and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with reasonable notice, effective at your next renewal.
Availability
We work to keep the service reliable but provide it "as is" and "as available", without an uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, and will give reasonable notice of a material adverse change where we can.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that monitoring will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, or that it will detect every expiry.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from a certificate or domain expiring, a site going down, or an alert being delayed or not delivered. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or its users. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, and the courts of Estonia have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you additional protection.
